I was appointed to a lectureship at Manchester in 1999 (after lecturing in Philosophy at Bolton Institute for a few years). I became Senior Lecturer in 2002 and Professor in 2006. I was Head of Department until September, 2011, and am currently on study leave until January, 2013. I'm looking forward to my return, having written quite a few papers and increased my average speed on my bike.
