Biography
Graeme Sherriff joined the University of Manchester in 2000 as a research assistant on the Toolkits for the Community-led Regeneration of Derelict Land project, and went on to complete a PhD, in which he looked at community food initiatives in the context of environmental justice and sustainability. Since 2005 he has been working as a Post Doctoral Research Associate in a number of projects, particularly around the themes of climate change and sustainability. Sustaining Knowledge for a Changing Climate (SKCC), Supermarket Adaptation to Future Environments (SAFE) and GRaBS have concerned adaptation to climate change, whilst in EUCO2 the focus was on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in European regions. SKILLS and Train the Trainers, funded through the Tesco Sustainable Consumption Institute (SCI) aimed to develop training in sustainability in a broad sense for the private sector. His current project, Challenging Lock-in through Urban Energy Systems CLUES, is exploring urban energy schemes within a climate change mitigation context.
Graeme has taught on the transport planning course in the School of Planning and Landscape.
