Biography

Dr Savoia is a an economist focussing on the political economy determinants of development. Taking a cross-national approach and using quantitative methods, his research has looked at the determinants of governance and institutional performance and how they impinge on development outcomes and policies. He has taught development economics, economics of institutions, economics of inequality, development finance and econometrics. Before joining the University of Manchester, Antonio has worked at the University of Exeter, the University of Reading and at the University of Bath (where he received his PhD).
