Biography
I have a BA (Hons) in French and Drama from the University of Hull and a MA in translation with French from the University of Salford. I also have a cert TESOL and a PGCE in tertiary education.
I have taught at several UK universities, beginning my career at the Uclan, before moving to Salford University. I have been a language tutor here at Manchester for 10 years now and became Senior Language Tutor in 2003.
IN 2004, the Senior Language Tutors in French, Spanish, Italian and German set up UBEST, a committee organising language-based days here at the university and in local schools for 16-18 year olds. We are still active in teaching at such events and in promoting links between local schools and colleges.
I am also interested in the training of new language tutors, and deliver sessions for new language tutors and graduate teaching fellows during their induction course.
I organise and run the PAGeS (Peer Assisted Grammar EBL sessions) project in the French Department.
