Current research projects

I am currently part of the research team for the research programme:  Conflicts over the countryside: civil society and the political ecology of rural development in the Andes.  My participation focuses on the study of the political economy conditions in which territorial rural development strategies are designed and implemented in contexts of neoliberalism and areas rich in mineral resources. This research is supported by an ESRC Professorial Research Fellowship (2007-2009) awarded to Prof. A. Bebbington. [www.manchester.ac.uk/sed/research/andes].

I also continue researching on the relationships between market formation and institutions, and its implications for the livelihood strategies of poor population from rural areas.
