Short Biography

Iain's main research interests lie in exploring the interdisciplinary nature of environmental planning, adaptation to climate change and the effective management of water in society.
Since 2005 he has been awarded £1.25m of research funds from European, national and regional public bodies, major research councils and private sector sources; approximately two thirds of which he has led as PI. He has also written over 20 academic journal articles, a number of book chapters and is the author of 'Water and the City: risk, resilience and planning for a sustainable future' recently published by Routledge.
In addition to involvement in research projects he is the Director of the Centre for Urban and Regional Ecology (CURE) and a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
