Chantal did her BA and PhD at the University of Cambridge and held a post-doctoral research fellowship at Queens' College between 2001 and 2004. She has worked at various periods for the Cambridge Archaeology Unit, as a site assissant, excavating sites across East Anglia. She has also worked as a lithic analyst for a number of commercial units. In 2005 she was lecturer in Prehistoric Archaeology at the University of Wales, Bangor.
